Innovative Idea of creating full fledged K12 School with minimum construction cost and land area.

This article by Shivam Tripathi (an International award winning architect) will explain about the innovative idea of creating full fledged K12 School with minimum build to delivered end to end cost of 7 Crore and Land area as minimum as 1.5 acre.

Shivam Tripathi is the director of Urban Akriti, has built many renowned high-end schools around the country. After years of experience in school construction and challenges faced along with it, Mr Tripathi has recently released a video on Facebook during Lockdown explaining various challenges the management face while following the norms of Boards and investing hard-earned cash of investors and shareholders.

In the video, Mr Tripathi has drawn the attention to Investors and Shareholders and tried to explain how IT, Data and Virtual Reality has become the backbone of every businesses these days and how investors should understand the role in breaking the conventional norms of heavy expenditure of K12 designs and construction of full fledged school of class 1 to 12.

Mr. Tripathi said that everybody involved in the project usually missed talking about the visionary Investors and Stakeholders who have invested their hard-earned savings for shaping the beautiful future of creating human capital - the child. He also explained how the budget of creating a full fledged school, if planned correctly, can help run a school smoothly without compromising the cost involved after construction.

What is the right direction or motto where money should be invested? There should be correct utilization of it, said Mr. Tripathi. He has a very innovative idea, he further explained. As per CBSE and NBC norms, the minimum area of 40 sqft per child is required for the total build up area of a full fledged school. The calculation can be summarized with an example: For 2000 student capacity school will require 80000 sqft area plus additional cost, if calculated will be around 20 Crore excluding the cost of the land. The run cost may include the marketing cost, air conditioning cost and many more.

Even if we take the maximum cost required to build a school of about 18 crore, its still a huge amount plus additional cost such as marketing cost, land cost, teacher's salary, blue caller, and many more is involved. According to Mr. Tripathi, the general solution for the same is that the total school construction cost of 18 crore should be divided and built in 3 phases with 6 Crore each. But, is that is ?

So, here comes the innovative idea of Mr. Tripathi, in which he is explaining how the cost of 1 phase i.e. about 6 crore becomes the total cost of the school? Watch the video.

A complete full-fledged school, having a capacity of 1000 - 1500 students with a total cost of maximum 6 crores? How? and what are the benefits? According to Mr. Tripathi, if there is a huge expenditure involved of around 18 crore in a full fledged school, we are completely squeezed in taking care of the financial needs of the teachers, the academic coordinators, principal, and there in, we negotiate with their salary. There is a huge expenditure involved in the marketing too. It creates a financial unsatisfaction with the teachers, who teaches a child and this effects in learning of a child. Additionally, child to teacher ratio is effected, which should be higher for better learning.
